About

Danny The Computer Guy has provided residential customers in the Mobile and Baldwin County areas with computer repair support since 2008. We are committed to excellence in everything we do and it doesn’t stop when it comes to your home computer.

Who and What are you?

I’m Danny Johnson, but people know me as ‘Danny the Computer Guy’. I live in Mobile, Alabama.  I own a computer repair business where perform upgrades, repairs and sell the occasional refurbished computer. It became automatic with talking to people and introducing myself as ‘Danny the Computer Guy’… that my wife said it was the perfect name for my business. I also build, design and market small websites, with emphasis on e-commerce.  Let me know what your needs are and I’ll be more than happy to accommodate you.

What are your qualifications?

I took my first computer class in 1984. I have many certifications… too many to enumerate here.  Among the more popular ones I have are MSCE, A+Plus, along with Dell, Toshiba and other Microsoft Certifications. There are many ‘computer guys’ out there who do not have the training or hands on experience that I have. This is what I do full time, so beware of ‘fix it guys’ who are doing it ‘on the side’. Chances are, it is just a hobby for them, and they can be learning at your expense.

What’s your story?

Back in 2002, with years of computer experience and a Ebay PowerSeller star under my belt, I moved to Boulder, Colorado. I found a great job with a wholesaler who had a large e-commerce division, and learned the ins and outs of that business quite well. I also attended classes and received a few more certifications in e-commerce.

In 2008, I moved back to Mobile to help with family, and found it very hard to find any work relating to my field. The only internet related work I could find was selling on “Ebay” since that is what the locals here call e-commerce. I started DeepFriedWebdesign.com in mid ‘08, and quickly acquired my first client, ShoreLine Bikes and Kayaks, a small bike and kayak outfitter in Fairhope, AL.

Things were churning along well until a friend of my sisters asked me to look at her computer. According to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, the hard drive was fried and needed to be replaced. The client brought it to me mainly for a second opinion. Turns out it was just a nasty virus. I recovered all of her photos, music, documents and reinstalled Windows XP.  I had the computer back to the client the next morning for $75. They were floored, as Best Buy took almost a week just to diagnose the problem and quoted $250 to replace the drive and reinstall Windows XP.

I can’t believe that most computer repair businesses will keep your equipment for weeks just to diagnose or do simple repairs. After that experience, I knew that my niche would be in a fast turnaround, great customer service and honest diagnostics.

On that cloudy day in November 2008, Danny the Computer Guy was born. This website was added in the spring of ‘09, to showcase my prices and computer packages I have for sale.
